I saw that too! I was a bit shocked too but then again I did serve a beer to the main actress from singles ward while I was working at Winger's in Bountiful. I just about choked when she ordered it.
first- Riva dear, you have quite the eagle eye, i watched i twice and did not recognize him.
second- some....interesting comments on the YouTube vid, and yes i have a personal favorite:
"I really love some of your guys' attitude. How dare Kirby make a living doing something he loves! Why doesn't he move back to Utah, pop out eight kids, buy a house he can't afford, run up massive credit debt, declare bankruptcy and develop adult-onset diabetes while his wife pops antidepressants and plots pyramid schemes to pay the mortgage? That's what a REAL Mormon would have done!" LOL (edited by me for maximum enjoyment)
...which illustrates point 3- sometimes it seems like Mormons can't NOT judge others. (esp. when judging others for judging others. wow!)
fourth- some YouTubers get it:
"Satan is cunning and spiteful and knows exactly what he's doing. To underestimate the enemy is to make yourself vulnerable to his attack. I suppose my bold statement would be that a great deal of the comments made in regard to this event are born in hypocrisy and I would warn all to avoid the temptation to judge. Every saint is aware of the word of wisdom and can make educated decisions on the matter. Let us work out our own salvation in humility."
fifth- if i were an Ad Exec, i wouldn't hire Kirby to sell Miller Lite...but if my client were Miller Lite i would sell the heck out of some beer. would i be judged for my association with Miller?
sixth- it is a good thing we are all equipped with personal morals and judged according to our own knowledge or circumstances instead of by internet standards...
seventh- i now relinquish control back to the Pagets and apologize for my needless verbosity.
There was a big article in the paper about it here (oh, Utah.). He basically pointed out that he was working, and he hadn't had a job in a while, so he and his wife considered it and decided that maybe this was them being provided for, and sometimes actors take jobs playing characters who do things they wouldn't do personally (like when he smoked in "Saints and Soldiers," which people threw a fit about, but it was really a good film). I guess the main guy in the commercial has never had alcohol, either. I've seen the commercial before, but I didn't even notice. I was like, how is this a big deal?
